How can we use English to get young learners listening, moving and participating?
In this quiz, you will explore the language needed to prepare and lead Total Physical Response (TPR) activities in a primary school classroom.
Through animated GIFs, songs, videos and realistic classroom situations, you will practise:
-
Giving instructions: Recognize and use imperatives, action verbs and movement vocabulary.
-
Describing activities: Explain what children are doing or have done using appropriate verb tenses.
-
Planning activities: Suggest ideas, choose suitable resources and explain how to use them.
-
Communicating with colleagues: Express agreement or polite disagreement, discuss practical problems and propose solutions.
-
Adapting instructions: Use clear English to organize games, songs, movement activities and classroom routines.

This activity has two assessed parts:
Part 1 — Read-Aloud Video: 10%
Record and submit a video of yourself reading aloud a section or full text of a primary English storybook. Your performance will be evaluated using the shared Read-Aloud Rubric.Part 2 — Peer Review: 10%
Watch and assess the two videos assigned to you. Use the same rubric carefully and provide specific, constructive written feedback.Your Peer Review grade reflects how carefully and consistently you apply the shared assessment criteria. Simply giving everyone the highest score does not guarantee a high Peer Review grade.
