This course introduces the fundamental principles that govern financial decisions within corporations.
The main objective of the course is to understand how firms create value through strategic investment and financing choices. The course will be divided in two parts. The first part will deal with corporate governance, financial statements analysis and ESG perspective. The second part will deal with the core tools for financial decisions making such as time value of money, the trade-off between risk and return, the cost of capital, investment project decisions rules and financing decisions rules.
Classes will alternate between theoretical input and practical exercises.
