The objective of this course is to bring to the
students a basic knowledge on the physical mechanisms controlling the liquid-vapor
and liquid-solid phase changes while presenting the most often used methods to
characterise the heat transfers. Existing modelling will be presented for boiling,
condensation, crystallisation and melting phenomena which take an important
place in many unit operations of engineering processes
