This course aims to provide an overall understanding of the planetary hydrological cycle. An introductive section will describe the different water bodies involved in the water cycle and the connections and fluxes between them. The main part of the course will be dedicated to the exploration of the driving mechanisms of water exchanges in the different components of the earth system while the last chapter will provide a detailed insight on the relationship between hydrological cycle and earth climate, in the particular context of global change.
